Sustainable Mobility
Commitment to Sustainable Mobility
The Universidade Católica Portuguesa has been promoting a series of initiatives that contribute to the reduction of motorised vehicles and to fostering a more accessible and pedestrian-friendly environment on its various campus and in the surrounding communities.
Smart Charging
This initiative, which is part of the University sustainability strategy (CASUS - Católica for Sustainability), is the result of a partnership with Mota-Engil Renewing. The installation of charging stations for electric vehicles, powered by low-carbon energy, aims to encourage campus users to adopt more sustainable transport options. Charging vehicles at these stations is accessible to any UCP user. The spaces, duly marked, are exclusively for parking and use by electric vehicles.
Tariffs:
The tariff granted by Mota-Engil Renewing to UCP is competitive in the context of the national electricity market and MOBI.E. This tariff is available at each station and varies according to the charging time: more time charging means a higher final price. You should only keep your car at the station for as long as is strictly necessary, giving other vehicles the chance to charge.
All questions relating to electric charging can be answered by calling 800 020 940, a 24-hour call centre.
Location:
Lisbon: campus Palma de Cima
- 4 charging stations of 22kw/hour located in the South Outdoor Park, after the access barriers to the park.
Porto: campus Foz
- 2 charging stations of 22kw/hour in the Teachers' Park.
- 2 charging stations of 22kw/hour on Floor -1 of the Restoration Building parking.
Braga: campus Camões
- 4 charging stations of 11kw/hour in the parking area at the entrance of the campus.
Mobility Plan
At Universidade Católica Portuguesa, we are updating our Mobility and Sustainable Transport Plan to help reduce the impact of motorised vehicles and promote our work in developing a more accessible and pedestrian-friendly environment on our campuses and in the surrounding communities. We promote walking, cycling and the use of public transport to reduce the number of people travelling to our campuses in private cars.
Campus cycle paths and cycle parking
The Palma de Cima campus is part of the Lisboa Rede de Ciclovias, allowing people to cycle to the University from different areas of Lisbon.
The University provides bicycle parking spaces on campus in an effort to encourage the use of this means of transport in order to reduce the number of urban journeys made by car.
