Católica Medical School is the most recent academic unit of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, created in 2019. The Faculty of Biotechnology was founded in 1984, more than 30 years ago. At ESB, a variety of university activities are carried out, with emphasis on Higher Education (Undergraduate, Master's, PhD and Postgraduate), Research and Development (fundamental and applied projects) and Extension to the secondary and tertiary sectors (provision of services, and continuing training).
The Faculty of Dental Medicine (FMD) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, created in 2019, develops activities around three pillars: Teaching, Scientific Research and Social Responsibility.
In the field of Teaching, the Integrated Master's Degree in Dental Medicine, the Undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Sciences and the Master's Degree in Applied Biomedicine (Computer and Management branches) are taught.

Regarding Social Responsibility, through the University Dental Clinic, it provides medical-dental consultations and contributes to the improvement of the health of the most vulnerable populations.
Supported by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), the FMD promotes biomedical, clinical and translational research.
The Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FEP-UCP) offers its students a quality education in the fields of Education and Psychology. The educational offer in Education includes several post-graduate courses, a master's degree and a PhD program (at the Porto Regional Centre and the Catholic University of Mozambique).
The Faculty of Human Sciences is organized in five scientific areas - Communication Sciences, Culture Studies, Philosophy, Social Sciences and Psychology - offering a total of 6 degrees, 9 master's degrees (with a total of 16 variants or annual specializations) and 5 PhDs. Moreover there is a Graduate School and an Advanced Training (EPGFA), with a dozen courses of variable format and length, 2 institutes and 3 Study Centers.
The reputation of the Faculty of Law (Porto School) speaks for itself. It was the first law course north of Coimbra. Over the course of 40 years, it has been building its own body of teachers, trained in Portugal and in prestigious European and North American universities. In the Faculty of Law, it is seen as a fundamental objective to help each student carry out their professional projects and even some of their dreams.
The Law Degree was the opportunity for the teaching of Law in public universities to leave the critical moment in which it was in Portugal in 1976. 13 years after the creation of the degree program, the Faculty of Law was founded which, anticipating the signal of time and following the needs and demands of society, is constantly evolving, both in terms of the programs offered and in terms of the teaching methods.
The origin of UCP dates from October 13, 1967, when it joined the Faculty of Philosophy of Braga as the first institution, which had been operating in the city since 1947. The Regional Center of Braga was born on October 25, 1999, with the purpose of consolidating and to develop the presence of the Portuguese Catholic University in the region. The Regional Center of Braga currently offers 9 degrees, 21 master's degrees and 6 doctorates, distributed by its faculties.
The Faculty of Theology has the mission to cultivate and promote, through scientific research and higher teaching, theological and related sciences; to study Catholic doctrine, haurida of Divine Revelation, and to expose it orderly, seeking, in the light of the same Revelation, solutions to human problems.

The Higher Institute for Canon Law is an academic institution erected canonically ad instar Facultatis by the Holy See with the faculty of granting the academic degree referring to the Degree in Canon Law, whose purpose is to cultivate canon science within the mystery of the Church and to form qualified canonists for the investigation, teaching and application of canon law according to the living tradition of the Church.
The Institute for Political Studies intends to be a strategic project of long reach and long duration. The Institute of Bioethics (IB) was created by the Superior Council of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in July 2002, with the commitment to extend and adapt the research work in Bioethics to new developments in science and technology.
The Institute of Canon Law, belonging to the network of ecclesiastic universities and faculties - in Europe there are more than one hundred and fifty higher education institutions - and to the community of forty-two university institutions for teaching Canon Law, was canonically erected by the Holy See in 2004 as an institute ad instar facultatis, succeeding the center of canonical studies founded in 1986 at the Catholic University of Portugal.
The Institute of Health Sciences was created at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2004 with the objective of integrating all existing programs in the field of Health Sciences into a single national project and promoting its development.
The Institute of Health Sciences - Viseu created in 2016 develops activities around three pillars: Teaching, Scientific Research and Provision of Services. In terms of teaching, the Master's Degree in Dental Medicine and the Degree in Biomedical Sciences are taught. Scientific research follows the mission and objectives of the Centre four Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), which has in Viseu the platforms: ProHealth and SalivaTec. The University Dental Clinic supports the training activity of the Integrated Master in Dental Medicine and provides services to the community.
The mission of the Institute of Management and Health Organisations is to prepare professionals of excellence giving them skills to work in organisations (businesses, public institutions or third sector) and to promote research and the consequent scientific development, as well as collaborating with other units of the University.
The Institute offers the undergraduate degree in Management, Master's degree in Management and Social Work, Master's degree in Education Sciences (in collaboration with the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Porto) and several postgraduate courses in Management and Social Sciences and also advanced training courses.
The School of Arts in Porto is directed to all those who are interested in the ancient and contemporary artistic and cultural heritage, in a diversified theoretical and practical education, and who are curious and have an open mind to research and fondness for problem solving.
