New Children's Book "Can I be a Scientist?"
Rita Ferreira, a laboratory technician at Católica Medical School (CMS), has published her first book entitled “Can I be a Scientist?”, by Cordel d'Prata. It's a children's book in which a child, Martim, shares with his friends the dream of becoming a scientist, like his mother.
According to Paulo Bettencourt, Director of the CMS Teaching and Research Laboratories, “This book is a very important element in the dissemination of science to the most important population: the children. It is an instrument for encouraging children's interest in science. In addition, the publication of this book shows the creativity and determination of CMS staff in such important matters as public engagement in science, which is of the utmost relevance not only to CMS, but also to stimulate a culture of scientific interest in Portugal. I wish Rita the best success, and hope that her work will stimulate the curiosity of many children who dream of becoming scientists.”
