Isabel Capeloa Gil becomes member of the Council of State
The President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Isabel Capeloa Gil, is among the figures nominated by the President of the Republic for the Council of State, as announced on Thursday, 16 April, by the Belém Palace.
The appointment of Isabel Capeloa Gil represents recognition of her contribution to higher education and strategic thinking in Portugal, strengthening the presence of the academic community in one of the President of the Republic’s most important advisory bodies.
The swearing-in of the new members of the Council of State took place on 17 April, during a ceremony at the Belém Palace.
The Council of State is the President of the Republic’s political advisory body, bringing together leading figures from various sectors of Portuguese society, with the mission of advising the Head of State on matters of particular relevance to the country.
