Céline Abecassis-Moedas wins research award for her work on new product development

Céline Abecassis-Moedas, researcher at CATÓLICA-LISBON and Director of Executive Training, was awarded the prestigious "Prix académique de la Recherche en Management" by FNEGE and Syntec Conseil.

The article "Drivers and Pathways of NPD Success in the Marketing-External Design Relationship", published in 2019 in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, was considered by the institutions that awarded this distinction as the best article on "transforming Marketing and Customer Relations". Céline Abecassis-Moedas is the author of the article with Aurélie Hemonnet Goujot from the Université Aix Marseille - IAE, and Delphine Manceau from Neoma Business School.

In this article, Céline Abecassis-Moedas and co-authors describe how New Product Development (NPD) depends on a good relationship between marketing and external design, which must cooperate in order to guarantee the success of the new product. Their research has demonstrated different factors affecting the success of the NPD, including "source of design expertise", "design brand commitment" and the number of phases in the NPD process involving the designer.

This award is given annually to the scientific articles that have contributed most to the management field each year, by Syntec Conseil, the professional union of consulting companies in France, and FNEGE, the National Foundation for Academic Education in Business Management.
