Católica launches new SDG Curricular Unit: 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Continuing its innovative Strategic Initiative called "SDG Curricular Unit", the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) launched a new Curricular Unit dedicated to the SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The new Curricular Unit is taught online and in English, and discusses topics such as the role of business in reducing corruption, how to ensure inclusive measures, and what are effective institutions, among others.

The subject grants 3 ECTS for a total of 18 hours divided into 6 sessions, between October 26 and December 7.

Four UCP schools are involved in its lecturing: the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, the Institute for Political Studies, the Faculty of Law - Porto School, and the Católica Porto Business School.

This initiative aims to introduce, in the academic curriculum of 1st cycle students, optional subjects specifically dedicated to the study and understanding of several Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

In addition to this new training offer, UCP has already launched in the academic year 2021/22 the Curricular Unit ODS 13 - Climate Action, which continues to integrate the academic curriculum this year.
