Católica joins SACRU Webinars on the future of food systems
"Sustainable innovation in the food system: The societal perception" and "Best science for a nourished planet: The role of the younger generation of scientists" are the webinars that SACRU - Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities organizes within the scope of the Science and Innovation Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), member of the alliance, joins this initiative with the participation of researchers Helena Ferreira and Paula Texeira.
The first session, "Sustainable innovation in the food system", takes place on October 13, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. promoting discussion among SACRU experts with a multidisciplinary approach that combines concrete and social scientists, the drivers of social perception and risk-benefit analysis strategies of innovation in the food system. Paula Teixeira, professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology (ESB) and researcher at the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), will contribute with a presentation on "Sustainability and Food Safety".
The following day, October 14, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., researchers and professors from the alliance's member universities will gather for the webinar "Best science for a nourished planet." Presentations will focus on the role of the new generation of scientists in developing solutions for a sustainable food system, giving them the opportunity to present their research and vision for the future.
In this webinar, Helena Ferreira, PhD student at ESB and CBQF researcher at UCP, will be responsible for the session "IMPULSE - IMpact of a PULSE-based partial replacement diet on metabolome and health"
