Católica celebrates one year of pioneering activities with Transform4Europe

In November 2024, Universidade Católica Portuguesa celebrates one year of involvement in the Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU). This consortium brings together 11 European universities with the aim of training highly qualified young Europeans to solve the challenges of the present and the future.

Throughout this year, 445 students and 50 Católoica staff members participated in the alliance's activities, such as conferences, summer courses, workshops, and visits to partner universities.

Universidade Católica Portuguesa organised several pioneering initiatives within T4EU, such as the Global Partnership Forum, the Science Café, the Summer School, the Science Communication Course and the Service-Learning Workshop.

Católica's contribution also extended to T4EU's nine work packages, with 48 people involved in various areas of activity: governance; mobility; academic curricula; doctoral education; professional excellence; sustainability; multilingualism; outreach and communication.

Transform4Europe will continue to offer opportunities to the academic community in the coming years and everyone is invited to join.

About T4EU

Established in 2020, Transform4Europe focuses on three areas of activity: digital transformation and smart regions; environmental transformation and sustainability; and societal transformation, community building and inclusion. Initially with seven universities, it now has 11 partner higher education institutions:

  • University of Saarland, Germany
  • University of Sofia St. KlimeUnt Ohridski, Bulgaria
  • University of Primorska in Koper, Slovenia
  • University of Alicante, Spain
  • Estonian Academy of Arts, Estonia
  • University of Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne, France
  • University of Trieste, Italy
  • University Vytautas Magnus, Lithuania
  • University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland
  • Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal
  • Mariupol State University, Ukraine

Its main goal is to create a sustainable European university with joint governance, accessible mobility, a focus on entrepreneurship and innovative partnerships. With a mission to transform areas of study, research and community life, T4EU aims to educate a new generation of young Europeans who will work in a spirit of co-operation on major societal transformations that require the development of new academic, entrepreneurial, digital and intercultural skills.
