Biblioteca Universitária João Paulo II | UCP | Lisboa Sede

To mark the 40th anniversary of Portugal’s accession to the European Economic Community, the Library is hosting the exhibition “Portugal and Europe: 40 Years of Shared Progress”, an initiative by Carlos Coelho, Commissioner for the Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of Portugal’s Accession to the European Communities, organised in collaboration with the Diplomatic Institute and CTT – Correios de Portugal.

The exhibition also brings together documents from the Ernâni Lopes Collection, currently held by the João Paulo II University Library, which bear witness to the process of Portugal’s accession to the European Communities and a decisive period in contemporary Portuguese history.

As part of T4EU Week “Community, Communities”, a European initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the exhibition reinforces the link between culture, memory and European university cooperation.

Admission is free and open to the academic community and the general public from 25 May to 6 June.
