As part of the seminar “Art and Diplomacy: Setting the Framework”, organised by The Lisbon Consortium – a network between the Cultural Studies programme at Faculty of Human Sciences at Católica and leading cultural institutions in Lisbon - a talk entitled “Curatorial Power: Selection, Visibility, and Narrative” will take place on 26 May at 3.30 pm.

This lecture will feature Rujeko Hockley, curator, and Alfredo Jaar and Aliza Nisenbaum, artists, and will be moderated by Randi Charno Levine, former US Ambassador to Portugal and Honorary Professor of Art and Diplomacy at Católica.

The panel will focus on curatorial decisions, discussing what is collected, exhibited, contextualised or omitted, as well as how these decisions actively construct cultural meanings and historical narratives.
