ColloquIA | The Encyclical Magnifica Humanitas

Artificial intelligence represents a technological advance that will revolutionise the present and future of humanity, whether in the digital world, in education, at work, in the economy or in warfare. Pope Leo XIV’s recent encyclical Magnifica Humanitas calls for reflection on the major challenges of this new era of artificial intelligence and, in particular, on the way we understand the human person as a being endowed with dignity, freedom and responsibility.

This edition of ColloquIA, organised by the Faculty of Law – Lisbon School of the Universidade Católica on 15 October, brings together academics from the fields of engineering, law, economics, ethics and theology to critically reflect on the new challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
