Close Listening: a concert with commentary and conversation

On 30 September, the Solistas da Metropolitana will participate in CECC’s Close Listening concert at 18h30, in Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Each work will be introduced by one of the musicians; after the concert, there will be a conversation between the musicians and audience members, moderated by Sara Eckerson.
The purpose of this conversation is to constitute an exchange of ideas on musical meaning, historical context, performance practice, and aesthetics rarely offered in a concert setting.
The program will span four periods in the history of music: Baroque, Classical, Romanticism, and 20th Century Music.
The event will be held in English and Portuguese.
