On 8 November, the Institute for Political Studies (IEP-Católica) will hold the 24th Annual ‘Alexis de Tocqueville Lecture’ and the IEP Diplomas and Awards Ceremony.

The event, which is characterised by being one of the IEP-Catholic's most solemn moments, will take place in the Cardinal Medeiros Auditorium at 18:00.

The guest speaker will be Jakub Klepal, Executive Director of Forum 2000, who will give a talk on ‘The Role of Civil Society in Safeguarding Democratic Governance’.

This will be followed by the Diploma Award Ceremony for new IEP Católica graduates, as well as the presentation of the IEP Excellence and Merit Awards, prizes that recognise academic merit and the academic community's commitment to excellence and service to society.

This event is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the contemporary challenges of democracy and the vital role of civil society in this context.

Given the limited capacity of the Cardinal Medeiros Auditorium, general public enrolment is limited to the auditorium's capacity.

Registration until 6 November at secretariado.iep@ucp.
