Battery collection to prevent toxic metals from contaminating the planet.
Location: Main lobby and School of Biotechnology
Expired medicines with a purpose!
Collection of expired medicine boxes, in partnership with Farmácia da Foz. Farmácia da Foz separates what can be recycled and safely destroys the chemical components of medicines through controlled incineration, preventing environmental contamination and protecting public health.

Sustainability barometer + Sustainable ideas competition
Sustainability quiz - Sulitest Task Demo (The assessment and certificate of sustainability knowledge), an international assessment tool that allows individuals to be assessed and certified on their knowledge of sustainability issues, sustainable development and social responsibility. After completing the Demo version, you will gain access to the full Sulitest. During the week, we will also be collecting ideas for projects to implement on campus. At the end of the week, we will announce the winning project!

Paper for Food Campaign
Paper collection for the Banco Alimentar, transforming paper into food and contributing to the eradication of hunger and poverty.

Launch of the Christmas Campaign
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Sustainable Coffee and Presentation of the Sustainability Club
Inauguration of Sustainability Week, with complimentary coffee. The Bar das Artes will also offer sustainable breakfast options. The Sustainability Club is being launched and is looking for people who want to take action, share ideas and make a difference. During the sustainable coffee break, clothes will be collected and sorted for the UCP Market.

2:30 p.m.: Presentation of the Greater Talents Project and training initiative
The Talentos Maiores programme aims to create an intergenerational community of learning, mentoring and social entrepreneurship, mobilising young people (18–35) and seniors (+50) to co-create solutions with social, economic and environmental impact. It focuses on combating ageism, promoting mental health and laying the foundations for the future. An Adritem/UCP - Porto partnership.
3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Planting of the course tree by students from the School of Biotechnology
Planting of a citrus tree to mark the group of new ESB students for 2025/26. No registration required.
Location: Garden behind the School of Biotechnology
4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: PROVEG Portugal Workshop
The goal will be to transform the food system, reduce the consumption of animal products, and promote a plant-based diet, including on campus!
Location: Campus canteen
9:45 a.m.: Sustainable Workplace Exercise
10 minutes of workplace exercise in the main campus lobby to energise the body and reinforce our commitment to collective well-being and healthy practices.
1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Charity Padel Tournament
This initiative combines sports, socializing, and charity. All registration fees will be donated to APPACDM-Porto, a partner institution of Católica Solidária that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Organized by the Student Associations and UDIP.

2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Workshop Educating for sustainability
Development of a training workshop for higher education teachers, focused on integrating sustainability principles into curricula.

09:45 a.m.: Sustainable Workplace Exercise
10 minutes of workplace exercise in the main campus lobby to energise the body and reinforce our commitment to collective well-being and healthy practices.
12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Inauguration of the Student Garden - T4EU
As part of the T4EU project, a sustainable garden will be created on each campi.

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Charity Walk/Run
Walk from the Porto Campus, Rua Diu, Av. Brasil, Castelo do Queijo, Av. Brasil, Rua de Diu, Porto Campus. Each person should bring a Católica sweatshirt/T-shirt.

A workshop to teach you how to minimise waste in the kitchen!

2:30 p.m.: Academic Burnout Workshop: Strategies for Rebalancing
In the workshop Academic Burnout: Strategies for Rebalancing, we will talk about academic burnout: how to identify it, what the signs and symptoms are, and what causes it. Come away with strategies to prevent burnout, recognise risk and protective factors, and take care of your mental health and that of others.

4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Workshop ‘Cut, Sew & Create!’
The workshop invites the student community to explore textile upcycling as a form of circular creativity by giving new life to used clothing, while promoting reflection on the emotional and cognitive processes linked to consumption, attachment, and renewal.

9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.: Conference on Poverty, Social Exclusion and Mental Health in Higher Education: an urgent challenge
This conference aims to discuss the growing psychological distress among students. The most vulnerable students face greater difficulties in accessing psychological support, compromising their academic performance and social integration. The event aims to mobilise the community to develop more humane and inclusive responses in defence of mental health in higher education.

2:00 p.m.: Webinar ‘Systems Shift: Insights from the Galapagos Islands’ | Católica Porto Business School
How do complex systems such as societies, economies and industries evolve? And what can we do to accelerate meaningful change towards a better future? An inspiring conversation at the intersection of science, sustainability and innovation, hosted by the Católica Centre for Thriving Futures. Exclusive pre-launch session of the Systems Shift podcast, scheduled to debut in 2026.

2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Lecture ‘Educating for Change: Insights from BioShoes4All on Sustainable Consumption and Communication’
This conference will present the journey of our group within the Project BioShoes4All over two years of interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue with multiple stakeholders across Portugal’s footwear industry. Developed in partnership with the School of Biotechnology, the project advances sustainability through a shared commitment to education, behavioral research and innovation.

3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Lecture ‘Brain4Sustainability: A Neuroeducational Approach to Textile Sustainability Literacy’
Sustainability education is increasingly recognized as crucial for cultivating environmentally responsible citizens. However, traditional educational paradigms often fail to bridge the gap between knowledge and behavior, particularly in younger audiences, where emotional, cognitive, and social factors strongly influence decision-making.

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: UCP Market - Clothing Exchange Fair
Exchange of second-hand clothing through a points system (no money involved).

Ping Pong Tournament: for those who do not have them, bats and balls can be requested at the Stationery Shop.

Food Bank | 3-hour shifts
Food campaign promoted by the Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome, which the Universidade Católica Portuguesa participates in every year. Católica provides 3-hour shifts at the following supermarkets: Froiz Bom Sucesso, Continente Cufra, and Mercadona Fluvial.
