From 4 to 6 October 2023, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) participated for the 2nd consecutive year in the annual Strategic Assembly of the Transform4Europe University Alliance (T4Europe), of which UCP has been a member since 2022, held at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany.
Isabel Vasconcelos and Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rectors of UCP, Francisco Mendes-Palma, Director of Global Engagement, Maria Lopes Cardoso, Director of Partnerships, Alumni and Employability at the Porto Regional Centre, João Cortez, Director of the Research and Innovation Office, Ana Fabíola Maurício, Executive Director of CADOS, Cláudia Catanho, Science Manager, and Beatriz Bernardes, researcher at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry, represented Católica's delegation at the meeting.
This year's edition celebrated the results of the Alliance's first three years and the start of a new cycle. In addition to the inaugural conference on "Shared values for a shared future", the meeting was marked by a debate between European experts on elements of European identity, as well as a discussion of the Alliance's central themes in different workshops and the Science Slam.
On 5 and 6 October, meetings of the Alliance's institutional bodies and the different expert groups made it possible to debate strategic issues, develop new ideas and strengthen the T4Europe network.
This annual assembly constitutes a platform for exchange and discussion between all the groups involved in the Transform4Europe University Alliance - students, professors, staff and external partners.
