Universidade Católica and Altice Labs sign scientific and technological cooperation agreement
Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto Campus, and Altice Labs have signed a general cooperation agreement, strengthening the relationship between the two institutions and paving the way for several joint initiatives in the areas of education and research.
The agreement establishes scientific and technological cooperation actions aimed at developing activities focused on human resources training and knowledge dissemination. This partnership seeks to consolidate synergies between the development of knowledge in the fields taught at Universidade Católica in Porto and the strategic interests of Altice Labs, namely in Technology Management, Innovation Management, Leadership, Risk Management, Sales, Marketing, and Strategic Thinking.
The two institutions identified three priority areas of collaboration: cooperation in postgraduate and executive education; the development of internships within R&D projects; and the exchange of experts between the two organizations.
Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, stated that “this partnership reflects Católica’s ongoing strategy to strengthen the link between academia and the business sector. Collaboration with Altice Labs will allow our academic community to engage with real challenges in the technology sector, while contributing specialized knowledge to support innovation and competitiveness.”
Paulo Firmeza, CEO of Altice Labs, noted that “this agreement is a strategic bridge to continue transforming ‘knowledge’ into ‘action’, enhancing and empowering our teams, fostering new talent, and addressing increasingly demanding challenges in the technology sector. A commitment to innovation is also a commitment to academia, and we believe that Universidade Católica Portuguesa shares our vision for the future.”
The signing of the agreement took place on 14 January at the Porto campus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and was attended by Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector; João Pinto, member of the Executive Committee of Católica’s Porto Regional Centre; Paulo Firmeza, CEO of Altice Labs; and Ana Margarida Almeida, Director of Innovation Strategy and Communication at Altice Labs.
