Two of Católica's projects secure funding from the Luso-American Development Foundation to strengthen their international presence

Universidade Católica Portuguesa strengthens its international presence with the selection of two projects by the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), under the UP – Higher Education 2026 Program. Each project can receive up to €30,000 in funding and promises to create new opportunities for academic mobility and scientific cooperation, consolidating the Católica's prestige in the global higher education landscape.

The LINK – Leadership in Nursing Knowledge Exchange project is the result of a strategic partnership between the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and Boston College (USA). The goal is to strengthen international cooperation in doctoral education in nursing through activities such as joint curriculum development, faculty and student mobility, intensive training sessions (Winter and Summer School), co-supervision of doctoral students, and scientific production.

At the same time, a Global Nursing Innovation Lab will be created, which will serve as a space for innovation and collaborative research, consolidating UCP's position as a European benchmark in doctoral training in Nursing. This project is aligned with the internationalization strategy of Católica and SACRU (Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities).

At the same time, the Faculty of Human Sciences is developing the Dual Degree in Emerging Media and Digital Transformation project, in collaboration with the College of Communication and Information at Kent State University (USA). This dual degree master's program combines media studies, programming, data analysis, and information visualization. Master's theses will be produced based on research carried out in Portugal and the United States, offering students a unique international academic experience and reinforcing the interdisciplinary nature of the program.

With these two projects, Universidade Católica Portuguesa reinforces its international presence, strengthens strategic ties with leading institutions in the USA, and promotes mobility, cross-cutting skills, and scientific cooperation. This recognition reflects Católica's commitment to excellence and innovation in global higher education.
