Short film with sound mixing by EA professor is among the Oscar finalists

The animated short film "O Homem do Lixo", by Laura Gonçalves, is among the 15 finalists that will compete for five nominations in the Best Animated Short Film category at the Hollywood Oscars.

The short film has sound mixing by EA professor José Vasco Carvalho. The film was produced by BAP - Animation Studio, a production company that has several EA alumni among its founders.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the finalists in 10 categories this week.

"The Garbage Man" received two awards in Zagreb and was present at the Annecy Festival (one of the biggest animation film festivals in the world).
