SACRU experts highlight the International Day of Families

Last Sunday, 15 May, the International Day of Families was celebrated, and researchers from SACRU - Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities, a network to which the Universidade Católica Portuguesa belongs, highlighted the date with contributions focused on the theme of family migration.

Celebrated by the UN - United Nations Organization since 1994, the International Day of Families became official following the approval of Resolution 47/237, whose text "resulted from the recommendations implemented by the Economic & Social Council and the Commission for Social Development in the 80s to raise awareness of the problems slowing down the well-being of families." With the COVID-19 pandemic, the progress of families was again challenged.

SACRU's Working Group 4 on family presented the results of its research on the impact of COVID-19 and confinements on families in a webinar in November 2021, reflecting on the impact of migration on families, a theme launched by the UN.
