Professor of the Nursing School appointed to the National Ethics Council for Life Sciences
Lurdes Martins, professor at the Nursing School (Lisbon) of the Institute of Health Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, was appointed to the National Ethics Council for Life Sciences (CNECV).
Designated by the Ordem dos Enfermeiros as a person of recognized merit who ensures special qualification in the field of bioethical issues, the teacher will join the CNECV. The Council, which has been active since 2009 in the Assembly of the Republic, "aims to analyse the ethical problems that arise with scientific progress in the areas of medicine, biology and health in general, being an independent consultative body."
