Porto Regional Center promotes social support dynamics through the Alumni Fund for Students

"The importance of alumni involvement in our life today is absolutely determining the day of tomorrow." This is how Isabel Braga da Cruz, president of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto and also a Católica alumna, talks about the Alumni Fund for Students initiative. "We want to serve as a support to those who choose us, whether or not they have the necessary conditions to support their studies," she adds.

The Alumni Fund for Students, an initiative of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, intends to invite former students to contribute so that students who benefit from Social Support (in the form of a social loan) are freed from having to return the supported amount of tuition fees, in their post-university life.

This fund, allocated annually, represents for current students a unique opportunity to have support during their university career and for alumni the opportunity to contribute to the training of future colleagues. Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto recognizes the importance of the involvement of the alumni community as a determining factor in the development and construction of the university.

With this fund, Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto reinforces the social support to its students, continuing to contribute to the excellence of education as a right for all. The process of granting this support will be in charge of a technical team that will respect the privacy of the student.

For Duarte Nuno Correia, a student at the Oporto School of Law, "social support can prove to be essential in a student's life path. It's often the trigger that sets off a future that would otherwise be just a dream. It is with this certainty that Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto challenges the entire Alumni Community to be part of this dynamic support, contributing with the amount they understand, so that even more young people build their future in the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.
