PhD in Religious Studies accredited for 6 years by A3ES

The PhD programme in Religious Studies at the Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais, Braga Regional Centre of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, was accredited by the Agência de Avaliação e Acreditação do Ensino Superior (A3ES) for a maximum period of 6 years.

The PhD in Religious Studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa is the only PhD in Portugal in this area. Through this programme, UCP intends to lead, in Portugal, the study of the religious phenomenon, in articulation with other higher education institutions and researchers who study this phenomenon.

This is an interdisciplinary programme, as it seeks to develop and host research on the religious phenomenon from various disciplinary areas, such as sociology, psychology, literature, history, philosophy and theology, among others.
