Note of condolence on the passing of Father Robson Cruz

The Universidade Católica Portuguesa expresses its deep sorrow at the passing of Father Robson Cruz, who served the University as the Chaplain between 1988 and 1992.

The current parish priest of S. João de Deus passed away on Sunday morning, August 17th, at the age of 63.

Father Robson was parish priest of Belas from 1993 to 1998, but also of the parish of Alto do Lumiar between 2009 and 2015, before being appointed parish vicar (coadjutor) of the parish of São João de Deus in the city of Lisbon, a position he held for four years until 2019, when he was appointed parish priest.

Father Robson Cruz was also mayor of the Olivais Seminary, director of the SDER (Diocesan Secretariat for Religious Education) in Lisbon from 2001 to 2006, and member of the Diocesan Institute for Christian Formation (IDFC) between 2010 and 2011.
