Nelson Ribeiro and Ana Isabel Reis launch book
"History of Radio Journalism in Portugal: from the first news programs to the 90s" is the title of the work recently coordinated and published by Nelson Ribeiro, Director of the Faculty of Human Sciences, UCP and researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture, and Ana Isabel Reis, researcher at CITCEM and professor at the University of Porto.
The book brings together a set of contributions on the subject, covering the period between the emergence of the first news programmes, in the late 1920s, and the second phase of liberalisation of the radio sector, in the early 1990s.
The book enables the understanding of how long it took to establish journalism as an autonomous field within radio stations and the evolution of different journalistic genres in the context of radio in Portugal.
