Luís Costa wins 2 awards at Motelx
The short film "O Nosso Reino", by Luís Costa (Escola das Artes' alumnus) won the awards for "MOTELX - Best Portuguese Horror Short Film and "Méliès d'Argent for Best European Short Film" at MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival. This is the first time in the festival's history that a film has won both awards.
The film, inspired by the homonymous novel by Valter Hugo Mãe had its world premiere at the 28th Curtas Festival in Vila do Conde, where it won the Audience Award in the National Competition, having in the meantime also been present at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma de Montréal.
The film's team also includes several former EA students: the production is by Bando à Parte by Rodrigo Areias; the photograph was by Miguel da Santa and Tiago Carvalho; André Guiomar and Ricardo Freitas in editing; Rolando Babo in music. The sound mix was by EA professor Vasco Carvalho. The poster photograph is by Professor Carlos Lobo.
