Inauguration of the Porsche Room at the start of the 17th edition of the Executive MBA
The Porto Regional Centre of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Porsche recently signed a protocol in which they establish a partnership for several initiatives that aim to strengthen relations and add value for both institutions. Following the partnership, the Porsche room was developed, equipped with the latest technology, and the integration of the prestigious brand in the Business Club of the Executive MBA of the Católica Porto Business School.
It was precisely at the beginning of the 17th edition of the Executive MBA that the Porsche Room was inaugurated by Hugo Ribeiro da Silva, CEO of the Porto Porsche Centre and by Isabel Braga da Cruz, President of the Porto Regional Centre.
"The close relationship between the university and the business world is one of the missions of a university. If teaching and research are, without a doubt, core missions of Católica, the transfer of knowledge to society and businesses is no less important. At Católica we are the space for the development of social, economic and scientific solutions focused on value creation and oriented towards the development of projects in partnership with the business sector", says Isabel Braga da Cruz.
Hugo Ribeiro da Silva, Executive MBA alumni and Executive Director of the Porto Porsche Centre and Braga Porsche Centre reinforces the words of the President Isabel Braga da Cruz and adds - "The partnership brings undoubtedly a great added value. Firstly, because being a partner of such a prestigious institution as Universidade Católica, by itself, already adds value. On the other hand, through the Católica Porto Business School, the Universidade Católica shares much of its knowledge, namely its vision about the future challenges of the economy and the market. Finally, this partnership allows us to make our company known to the excellent members of its faculty, as well as to the students of the respective academic courses taught by the school. Through this partnership our company and the brands we represent can create synergies for the development of their own businesses."
This inauguration also had the presence of João Pinto, Vice-President of the Porto Regional Centre of the UCP and Rui Soucasaux Sousa, Dean of the Católica Porto Business School.
The day was also marked by the welcome of the new students of the Executive MBA. The welcome was given by Gonçalo Faria, Associate Dean for Executive Education and Ana Côrte-Real, Director of the Executive MBA. The class had the opportunity to hear the testimonies of students and former students of the programme and to get to know the Career and Development Office, an exclusive service for students of Católica Porto Business School.
The differentiating points of the Executive MBA are the business club, the 360º assessment at the beginning and end of the programme and tutorial monitoring. This MBA will also focus on the development of soft skills, on tutorial support throughout the programme, on activities outside the classroom - sailing, padel and -, on the promotion of masterclasses and a bootcamp focused on the area of social entrepreneurship. The programme also focuses on international missions, highlighting, at this point, the Weeks in Germany and Barcelona.
