First-year students on the Bachelor’s degree programme at the School of Nursing (Lisbon) receive their uniforms
First-year students at the School of Nursing (Lisbon) received the blessing of their uniforms from Reverend Father Miguel Vasconcelos, Chaplain of Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
This symbolic moment represents an initiation rite for the students, held in the presence of the academic community and family members on the first day they wear their uniforms.
The Director of the School of Nursing (Lisbon), Amélia Simões Figueiredo, noted that this is a moment marking an important stage in the students’ educational journey: “I would like you to remember this day, which connects you to an identity that has been taking shape, as students of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, as nursing students and future nurses.”
In an inspiring address, she spoke to the students, expressing her deep hope that the uniform represents more than just a symbol: “I sincerely hope that the uniform you wear will be a means of connecting with the people who will be entrusted to your care.”
