"An experience to repeat": Volunteering brings UCP students and staff together

More than a dozen volunteers from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) helped sort and prepare donations received by the ENTRAJUDA association's Donated Goods Bank on 21 and 28 February. The corporate volunteering action took place as part of the Vida Project - Volunteering at Católica, and the donations will be sent to charities in Portugal.

A total of 45 hours of voluntary work was carried out, to which both UCP students and staff contributed.

"It was an excellent opportunity to engage with the community, make a difference and grow personally and as a team with other staff and students from Católica," comments Sabrina Martins, from the Faculty of Human Sciences, one of the volunteers present at the initiative.

The employee emphasises the "enthusiasm" with which she embraced "the opportunity given by the Universidade Católica" and has no doubts, it is "an experience to repeat!"

A partner of Universidade Católica in the context of the Vida Project, the BANK OF DONATED GOODS receives products and equipment to distribute to social institutions and, through them, help people in need. It was set up by ENTRAJUDA and is an agent of the Circular Economy: it promotes the reuse of goods as the first option, and the recovery of everything that may have value to support people and social institutions.
