DeepTech Transfer Competition - Transformar os resultados da investigação em impacto!
Universidade Católica Portuguesa is implementing the DeepTech Transfer Competition, a programme designed to foster innovative ideas with strong market potential, supporting projects in the areas of Agri-food, Health, and Information Technologies.
This competition is part of the DeepTech Transfer (DTT) project, which aims to promote Scientific and Technological Knowledge Transfer. Its main objective is to enhance the economic valorisation of R&D results by strengthening knowledge transfer processes and tools for both national and international business sectors, while also improving conditions for start-ups through the transformation of innovative ideas and technologies generated by researchers, PhD candidates, and Master's students.
The competition is aimed at science- and technology-based projects developed at universities in the Northern and Central regions of Portugal.
Up to 15 teams will be selected across the competition areas. Key benefits include access to specialised technical tools and resources supported by mentors, strategic connections with companies, investors, and key partners, as well as an in-kind prize worth €5,000 in specialised mentoring services.
“Access to the tools provided by the programme team, combined with mentoring support, represents a strategic opportunity for researchers, students, and entrepreneurs wishing to accelerate the transfer of the knowledge they have generated into solutions with a tangible impact on society,” says João Cortez, project coordinator.
The programme will run from September 2026 to June 2027.
