“De(constructing) the Academy, Co-constructing Knowledge” was the theme for the public presentation of INOV-Norte, the Consortium that includes Universidade Católica Portuguesa
The public presentation of the consortium, which brings together the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the University of Porto (which leads the project), the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and the Higher School of Nursing of Porto, mobilizing an academic community of over ninety thousand students, took place on October 9th in the Noble Hall of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto. The event was attended by the Deputy Director-General for Higher Education, Ângela Noiva Gonçalves.
The INOV-Norte project is funded by the NextGeneration EU program, through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) of the Portuguese Republic, under the Investment RE-C06-i07 — More Digital Impulse, sub-measure "Innovation and Modernization of Pedagogy in Higher Education — Creation of Centers of Excellence in Pedagogical Innovation."
The event program was marked by the presentation of the consortium, featuring an intervention by Professor Sónia Valente Rodrigues (Vice-Rector of U.Porto and Coordinator of the INOV-Norte Consortium), and two round tables on “Co-construction of Knowledge” and “Governance and Academic Innovation.” The session saw the participation of around 150 people, including institutional representatives and management bodies, with notable attendees such as Isabel Capeloa Gil (Rector of UCP); António de Sousa Pereira (Rector of U.Porto); Emídio Gomes (Rector of UTAD);; Orlando Rodrigues (President of IPB); Paulo Pereira (President of P.Porto); Luís Carvalho (President of ESEP), as well as students, staff, faculty/researchers, and institutional representatives. After the joint signing of the establishment of the Center, João Guerreiro (President of the A3ES Board of Directors) delivered the closing speech.
