CRC-W project receives funding from FCT under the "RESEARCH 4 COVID-19" support
The project "ResiliScence 4 COVID-19: Social Sensing & Intelligence for Forecasting Human Response in Future OVID-19 Scenarios, towards Social Systems Resilience", developed by the Católica Research Center for Psychological, Family and Social Wellbeing (CRC-W) was one of 55 projects selected for funding by FCT under the "RESEARCH 4 COVID-19" support.
As human behavior is the most effective mechanism for social control of the pandemic in the absence of vaccine or other control measures, being able to predict it will allow proactive intervention, reducing the burden and increasing the resilience of the National Health System. Coordinated by Professor Rui Gaspar, this project aims to create predictor models of risk behavior based on human sensor data (psychosocial + "intelligent" data collected by smartphone) and epidemiological. Based on the results, proposals will be elaborated to readapt the Plano Nacional de Preparação e Resposta (PNPR) to the COVID-19, based on the development of strategies and resources that promote social mobilization and resilience, customized to the different phases of crisis and future pandemic scenarios.
