Confraria do Bom Jesus celebrates protocol with UCP

The Colloquium "World Heritage and Peace" took place on 7 July, addressing topics such as "World Heritage in times of crisis/conflict: how to safeguard it".

This event was attended by Maria Conceição Lopes (University of Coimbra, Ana Paula Amendoeira (Vice-President of ICOMOS) and Miguel Bandeira (President of the Bracara Augusta Foundation). 

The signing of the agreement between the Confraria do Bom Jesus do Monte and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) of the Braga Regional Centre was the highlight of the session. "These protocols show that the Bom Jesus Sanctuary is open to science, research, knowledge, areas that must always be at the service of peace and a new humanity", emphasised Canon Mário Martins, President of the Bom Jesus do Monte Confraternity.

João Manuel Duque, Pro-Rector of the Universidade Católica, emphasised the importance of the agreements that were signed "for the development of universities".

The respective programme also included the launch of the book "Bom Jesus do Monte" (2nd edition)" and the concert of the vocal group "Cupertinos", which proves that the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus is inclusive.
