ComunicAR.TE.: For an Effective Academic Communication
"ComunicAR.TE" is a 6-week training aimed at (post)doctoral students of any program at the Catholic University of Portugal. The training has a strong experiential component and will focus, above all, on aspects related to communication (intra and inter-personal) linked, although not strictly restricted, to the academic context. In this training, participants will come into contact with pragmatic, creative and more utilitarian resources, distinctions, tools and techniques to enhance and integrate different ways of communicating and listening, as well as practice ways of asking for, giving, receiving, managing and preparing feedback and sharing, both verbally and written.
Based on the idea of radical responsibility, on the maps and distinctions proposed by Possibility Management (Clinton Callahan) - giving and/or asking for possibilities, check-ins, non-linearity and creativity, rapid learning, completing communication, feedback & coaching, etc. - this training will consist of a practice based on observation and analysis of how we organize our behaviors, emotions and feelings to then translate them into communicational and non-verbal language, and reach out to the other.
This training will focus on the development of strategies and motivational tools for participants to continue the work developed, as well as stimulate peer initiatives for the fomentation of micro communities of practice, even if only virtually.
