Católica's employees participate in a University Social Responsibility training program with François Vallaeys
The Observatory of Social Responsibility and Higher Education Institutions (ORSIES), to which Universidade Católica belongs since 2017, is promoting, within the ORSIES Academy, a 12-hour training in Higher Education Social Responsibility (RSU) with Prof. François Vallaeys, French philosopher, international consultant in RSU and current Educational Director of the Latin American Union of University Social Responsibility (URSULA).
The training session, which takes place once a week between October and November, has as main objectives: to understand MSW as a model of university management; to reflect on the criteria of socially responsible quality that HEIs should practice; to present proposals for improvement of MSW; and to establish strategic alliances for joint interventions in the context of ORSIES.
Carmo Themudo and Eduardo Lopes from UDIP at the Porto Campus and Rita Paiva and Pona from the Social Responsibility Office (GRS) are participating in the training, as are 45 other people from various Portuguese higher education institutions. This formation constitutes one more step in the capacitation of the internal community for the theme of university social responsibility, in the scope of the initiative CASUS - CAtólica para a SUStentabilidade.
