Católica signs agreement establishing Transform4Europe as a legal entity marking a New Chapter for the T4EU Alliance
On 22 October 2025, Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and Rectors from each member University of the Transform4Europe Alliance, gathered at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, during the T4EU Week, to mark the establishment of the Alliance as a legal entity.
The official ceremony that held this historic event took place in the context of the Strategic Policy Conference “Universities Shaping the Future: Building Resilient Societies through Innovation and Global Impact”.
The signing of the document constitutes an important stage in the development of the Alliance, proving its sustainability and readiness to act independently on the international stage.
With this step beyond the project framework — the T4EU Alliance is now evolving into a lasting and structured partnership. Thus, enabling the Alliance to sustain its joint initiatives even after European Union’s funding ends.
This opens up new opportunities to develop, strengthen cooperation between universities and shape the future of European higher education.
The efforts to establish the legal entity were coordinated by a team led by Tomasz Pietrzykowski, Vice-Rector for International and Domestic Cooperation at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
