Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) received a visit by a delegation from Mariupol State University (MSU) on December 6, 2024, under the motto “Built back better”.
The two universities are partners in the Transform4Europe Alliance of European Universities (T4EU). They are committed, also bilaterally, to deepening relations in teaching, research, internationalization and the management of the university's tangible and intangible assets.
The MSU delegation included Mykola Trofymenko, Rector; Tetyana Marena, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Iryna Sikorska, Director of the Centre for Internationalization of Education; Andriy Stoyka, Department of Marketing and Logistics; Anastasia Trofymenko, Department of Political Science and Natalya Stoyka, Department of Communication.
They were welcomed by Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector for Research; Nelson Ribeiro, Vice-Rector for International Affairs; Rita Bacelar, Director of Global Engagement and Francisco Mendes-Palma, Director of T4EU at UCP.
At this meeting, both universities embraced international university cooperation as a vector that provides opportunities for a better future. It is hoped that this contribution to the common good will happen through mutual cooperation and exchange, in a perspective sustained over time and several activities. Also noteworthy is the contribution to building MSU's capacity to respond to societal challenges in Ukraine.
