Católica Porto Teen Academy 2024 inspires high school students
July was a stage for dreams and creativity for around 300 high school students at Católica Porto Teen Academy. Teens from all over the country embraced the challenge and embarked on an unforgettable experience that allowed them to explore the world of careers and delve into different areas of knowledge.
This year, the nine programs of Católica Porto Teen Academy opened doors for students' dreams to become reality and helped them to discover their next steps. An amazing group of activities lead by the academic units of the Católica in Porto - Católica Porto Business School, School of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Education and Psychology and the Nursing School.
Place of discoveries in various areas
Throughout this new edition of Teen Academy, participants had the opportunity to experience the reality of many professions, contact with faculty members and students and deepen their knowledge on Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
In the “Young Enterprise” program, students were challenged to take on the role of future managers and developed a business plan focused on local accommodation; in the field of Law, the “Discovering Law” program allowed these teens to explore the legal universe through simulated trials and workshops; in “3…2…1 Psychology in Action”, students participated in a program that allowed them to explore the different areas of intervention of Psychologists.

“Experiment with Science” program, showed the high school students with a week of laboratory activities, as well as unique and enriching experiences. The “Nutrition Summer School” made it possible to explore food flavors and aromas, but also to learn more about new trends in Clinical Nutrition - important aspects for future nutritionists. In Nursing, the “Nursing Academy: Best Way to choose a future” provided a week of practical activities and visits to real hospital spaces, exploring the various nursing specialties.
On the Arts, students enjoyed an immersive experience, through artistic and technological experimentation, through the courses “Short Film Project”, “Conservation and Restoration Workshop” and “Sound and Image Workshop”.
On this new edition, Católica Porto Teen Academy allowed young people to develop new skills and transform their interests into achievements. During the month of July, this initiative gave young people the opportunity to get to know the academic environment, allowing them to make a more informed decision about a higher education program.
