Católica Porto Business School brings together students from around the world for summer programmes

At Católica Porto Business School, every day is an international day – but July stood out for bringing together culture, knowledge and unique experiences on the campus. Throughout the month, CPBS welcomed around 130 students from 21 different nationalities, spread across four international programmes.

The month kicked off with the Porto Sustainable Business Summer School, a three-week initiative organised in partnership with WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business, now in its 4th edition, and coordinated by professor Alexandra Leitão. This collaboration between two schools with Triple Crown Accreditation (EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB) promotes annual reflection on topics related to sustainability and the role of companies in a changing world.

At the same time, the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in New Marketing Trends took place, an Erasmus+ programme coordinated by Susana Costa e Silva, which brought together students of various nationalities, notably from partner universities Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Kozminski University and University of Economics of Wroclaw. The course combined classes with marketing lecturers and projects applied to Portuguese brands such as Ramirez, Licor Beirão, Nortada, Compal and Delta.

In mid-July, the Deep Tech & Business Case Summer School began, also coordinated by Susana Costa e Silva. Aimed at undergraduate and master's students interested in the intersection between technology and business strategy. The training explored emerging trends and challenges in the sector. The best group was awarded a prize of 1,500 euros, funded by the European ELEVATE project.

At the end of the month, the Porto Summer School in Machine Learning and Textual Analysis took place, organised by Paulo Alves, vice dean and associate dean for Master's degrees at our School. Aimed at doctoral and master's students and final-year undergraduate students interested in finance and accounting, this training focused on the application of Machine Learning and NLP (Natural Language Processing) in financial models.

These programmes, led by internationally renowned professors, reflect the global mindset of Católica Porto Business School. By promoting contact with different ways of thinking, learning and doing, they have created a dynamic and truly international environment - where cultural diversity is part of the academic experience and preparation for global contexts begins in the classroom.
