Católica Nursing School discusses Health Policies
The final-year students of the course unit "Health Policies" of the Undergraduate Degree in Nursing of the Institute of Health Sciences (Lisbon) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa presented the results of their analysis of some health policy standards. Some regulations of the Directorate-General of Health, chosen by the students in the current context, namely in a pandemic period, were the object of this analysis.
This discussion integrated three scientific perspectives - Nursing, Bioethics and Health Law - in an interconnection between the work of this Curricular Unit and others already taught throughout the course to these students in these areas. The result gave rise to a set of posters that will be presented in the XI National Seminar and IX International Seminar of the School of Nursing (Lisbon), on 8 June.
The final synthesis will be presented as a critical approach for improving these standards to the Directorate-General for Health in the framework of the project “Ethics4care” of the “Nursing Research Platform Lisbon” of the “Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar em Saúde (CIIS)”.
