Católica hosts the 13th FORGES Conference today to discuss challenges facing higher education institutions

Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is organising the 13th FORGES Conference in collaboration with the Forum for Higher Education Management in Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions (FORGES), from November 22 to 24.

Dedicated to the theme "Higher Education Institutions and the Great Challenges of Humanity in the Portuguese-speaking world: Strategies for SDG-orientated Management", the conference will take place at the UCP headquarters in Lisbon. Among the topics under discussion are strategies for promoting sustainability, training and pedagogical innovation, and higher education in emerging contexts.

The Sustainability Network for Higher Education Institutions in Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions will also be launched during the conference.

The event will be attended by researchers and higher education institutions from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé Príncipe, and Timor. Speakers include Margarida Mano, President of FORGES and Vice-Rector of UCP, and Alfredo Gabriel Buza, Rector of the University of Luanda (Angola).

The 13th FORGES Conference aims to bring the entire academic community closer together, especially education policymakers, members of the governing bodies of higher education institutions, administrators, lecturers and researchers. It is an opportunity to reflect on some of the main structuring issues in higher education and is a space for cooperation, sharing, learning and benchmark research.
