Capacitar para Proteger trains over 130 social sector professionals in the first month of the project
As part of its mission to transfer knowledge to society through its university extension activities, the School of Nursing (Lisbon) of Instituto de Ciências da Saúde (ICS) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) has provided training to professionals in the social sector on appropriate procedures to prevent the transmission of infection in general and the transmission of infection by coronavirus in particular.
The project, which started with the objective of specific training for professionals in Residential Structures for the Elderly, has broadened its audience to other areas, namely day care and pre-school professionals, and home support professionals.
During the first month of the project, more than 135 professionals were trained in 8 formations from 6 different institutions, involving about 50 final year students of the Nursing Degree course in articulation with the teaching staff of the Catholic School of Nursing.
