Belém, Brazil, hosts COP30, the United Nations conference on climate change
The city of Belém, Brazil, will host the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will take place from 10 to 21 November 2025.
This edition, with the slogan ‘COP30 Brazil Amazonia’, will bring together world leaders, scientists, representatives of international organisations and civil society to discuss concrete solutions to the climate crisis.
The event will take place at the Hangar Amazonas Convention and Exhibition Centre, the largest convention centre in the region, with capacity for thousands of participants.
The COP30 programme will be organised into Theme Days, each dedicated to topics essential to climate action, including forests, oceans, biodiversity, indigenous peoples, youth, agriculture, food security, women, gender and sustainable tourism.
A Leaders' Summit is also planned for 6 and 7 November, which will provide an opportunity to discuss urgent political action and global commitments to combat climate change.
