The Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing programme is hosting the first edition of the Nursing Job Hub
The School of Nursing (Lisbon) at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa organised, for the first time, the Nursing Job Hub, an initiative forming part of the ‘Integration into Professional Life’ module, coordinated by Patrícia Pontífice de Sousa and Clara Roquette Viana.
The event brought together various healthcare institutions and final-year students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, creating a unique forum for bridging the gap between the academic world and the job market. Over the course of these two days, the future nurses had the opportunity to engage directly with potential employers, learn about different professional contexts, clarify doubts regarding career paths and explore opportunities for launching their professional careers.
The launch of the Nursing Job Hub reflects the commitment of the School of Nursing (Lisbon) at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa to providing an education geared towards excellence and the employability of its students. This close link with healthcare institutions is not limited to the final stage of the degree programme: it is an ongoing process that begins in the first year of the Bachelor’s degree, through clinical teaching, continuous contact with real-world practice settings, and the development of key skills that help future nurses build their professional identity.
By strengthening the link between academia and the healthcare sector, the Nursing Job Hub offers a unique opportunity to bring talent together, preparing students for a more conscious, confident and informed transition into the profession.
This first edition thus marks another step forward in the mission of the School of Nursing (Lisbon) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa to train competent, compassionate professionals capable of responding to the current and future challenges of healthcare.
