XIX Biotechnology Olympiad - National Final

The Faculty of Biotechnology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the Portuguese Biotechnology Society organise the annual Biotechnology Olympics. Aimed at secondary school students, this event aims to promote:

• Scientific and technological culture among secondary school students
• Knowledge of biotechnology in its many guises
• Interest in activities on a national scale

9:30 am - Check in and presentation of attendance certificates to finalists

10:00 am - Practical test for students

10:15 am - Laboratory activity for teachers (Study of enthalpy variation)

11:30 am – Snack

12:00 am - Theory test for students

12:15 am - Lecture for teachers (Climate change: causes and consequences)

1:00 pm - Free lunch

2:30 pm - Visit to the School of Biotechnology building

3:30 pm - Experimental activity for students and teachers (Discovering Sensory Analysis)

4:30 pm – Snack

5:00 pm - Final prize-giving session

6:00 pm - Closing ceremony
