“Traces of Memory in the City” – Transform4Europe Regional Heritage Workshop

University of Silesia in Katowice organizes the Transform4Europe Regional Heritage Workshop delivered in a form of 2-day photography workshop, led by a professional photographer, which will take place on 19- 20 October in Katowice.

The workshop will explore the themes of identity and memory within the urban spaces of Upper Silesia. The participants will search for locations and narratives linked to the region’s complex cultural heritage and history.

The workshop programme includes:

• An introduction to photographic composition.
• Tips on how to take compelling photos even with basic equipment.
• A presentation of the lecturer’s own projects on identity and memory.
• On-site photography practice in the city.

The second day will focus on developing an exhibition or zine project based on the selected photographs. The final results will be presented at the University of Silesia in Katowice during the conference “City-Memory-Art. Images of identity in urban space”.
