In a partnership between the Institute of Political Studies and the +Liberdade Institute, and with the support of the Cultura@Católica 2021 programme, the itinerant exhibition Totalitarianism in Europe will be on display between November 24 and December 17, at the Lisbon campus of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
The exhibition presents the European totalitarian regimes chronologically, creating a route in 3 nuclei, distributed by the three buildings of the campus: Lobby of Building 1 (FCH; Theology; Law; Medical Sciences); Lobby next to the exhibition room, in the Library building; Lobby of the CATÓLICA-LISBON building.
Carlos Guimarães Pinto, executive director of the +Liberdade Institute, reveals that "the exhibition aims to remember Europe's tragic totalitarian past, helping to prevent the recurrence of any form of totalitarian regime in the future. Memory is important so that we never forget the importance of defending fundamental human rights, individual freedoms and guarantees, as well as democratic values in society."
