Summit of Democracies 2021 - IEP Open Day

The Instituto de Estudos Políticos (IEP) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa organises another edition of the IEP Open Day - Democracies Summit. The event, this year dedicated to the theme "The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union", takes place on April 22, from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., through the Zoom platform.
The Opening Session will be broadcasted live on the IEP's Youtube channel. The session will be presided by José Manuel Durão Barroso and will have the participation of Elisa Ferreira (EU Commissioner) and Ambassador Nuno Brito (Permanent Representative of Portugal to the European Union).
The Open Day of the Instituto de Estudos Políticos has, since 2013, been organised through the format of a simulation of the "Summit of Democracies", an initiative that invites secondary school students to debate current political events and democracy at a global level.
