Solemn session of the National Day of Universidade Católica Portuguesa

“Por uma Diaconia da Cultura” will be the theme of the solemn session of the National Day of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, which will take place on February 6, at 3:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the Catolica in Lisbon.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Magno Chancellor of the Universidade Católica, D. Rui Valério, who will open the session, followed by a speech by the President, Isabel Capeloa Gil.

During the ceremony, Philippe Starck will be awarded an honorary doctorate. The insignia will also be presented and doctoral certificates awarded to the new doctors of the Universidade Católica.

Participation in the event is reserved for the academic community and guests.

Philippe Starck, an internationally renowned designer with an inventive and multifaceted body of work, focuses on the essential – his vision. This is based on the principle that creation, regardless of its form, should improve the lives of as many people as possible. This philosophy has established him as one of the pioneers and central figures of so-called “democratic design”.
