SimSchool PreMed | 11th Edition

The Faculty of Medicine is organising SimSchool, which will take place from 6 to 8 April at Hospital da Luz.

SimSchool offers students and young people – for some, likely their first opportunity – to practise interacting with patients during medical consultations and in the emergency department within a safe, controlled simulation environment. Here, they will be able to learn the basics, practise essential techniques for managing these cases and, in critical situations, apply CRM principles to improve skills that contribute to teamwork, such as communication and leadership.

Throughout this program, students will have different experiences:

•  Medical consultation for simulated patients, where the clinical history is taken, interprets exams and has access and records data in the clinical process;
• Training of non-technical skills for teamwork;
• Approaching a victim in cardiorespiratory arrest and resuscitation maneuvers;
• A visit to Hospital da Luz Lisboa;
• Interactive sharing of a doctor's experience;
• And also a visit to the Católica Medical School with a coaching session, networking and a visit to the different Labs: AnatomyLab, SkillsLab and ResearchLab.
