The Seminar on Contemporary Religious History has been held regularly at the Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa - CEHR since 2000. Between October 2018 and May 2019 there has been another cycle of this seminar, which takes place once a month at the Portuguese Catholic University (Campus Lisbon).

It has as objectives:

  • To promote the meeting and encourage common reflection among researchers in the field of Contemporary Religious History;
  • To allow the presentation of new research, with particular attention to the work of younger researchers;
  • To deepen the reflection on the themes of belief and citizenship as references of analysis in the study of contemporary societies.

It is an open Seminar of study, with free entrance, involving all the participants and not destined to a specific curricular profile.

The January seminar has as theme "The Expression of Kardecist Spiritism in Portugal, after April 25" and Solange Martinho (ULHT - Lisbon) as speaker. It takes place on January 14 from 3pm to 5pm in the Timor Room (1st floor of the Library building).
